members are encouraged to mark Saturday, September 22nd, 2007 on
their calendars as this will be the date of the now annual club Pig Roast.
Dave Bishop of Dave’s catering will once again be manning the grill and
showing us his expertise in culinary excellence!
Tickets are $16 dollars each for adults and $5.00 dollars for children 12
and under. Tickets are limited to
the first 150 persons. The
overall menu this year will be a repeat of last years selection of numerous good
eats! That list will again include hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, roast beef, a
number of delicious side dishes and of course our guest of honor…………….THE
PIG!!! One more added

be advised that our other guests this year at this year’s Pig Roast will be a
number of familiar faces from the Gun Owners’ Action League. All attendees are urged to come out and meet the your friends
from the GOAL Staff as this year’s event is being held in conjunction with the
GOAL organization’s Heritage Fund program. All attendees and their guests can
expect a number of raffles and prizes. Please
be advised that there is also a tentative auction/fundraiser being planned to
help create monies for the GOAL Heritage Fund. Membership Drive: Please
be advised that our club will be holding it’s first “Membership Drive” on
the day of the September 22, 2007 PIG ROAST!
Anyone interested in joining our organization is welcome to submit an
application to our membership committee on that day. Perspective new members
will receive a discount of $45 dollars on their related fees to join the Cape
Cod Fish & Game Association. Please
be advised that the regular price to join our club is currently $180 dollars.
This covers the cost of dues and our one time initiation fee.
On September 22, 2007 perspective new members will be offered a one time,
total discounted price of $135 dollars. Please
be advised that memberships approved from this date will be valid until May 1,
2008. Please tell your neighbors
and friends about this exciting opportunity to join our organization. What is the GOAL
Heritage Fund? This fund created by our friends at GOAL was created to make monies available to the various gun clubs through out the state. This money is made available to individual clubs by way of a grant application. In essence, what is created by all of us around the state thereby stays here in the state as a way to help various clubs build and update there own shooting facilities. Where To Buy Tickets: Tickets
will be available at the September 11th, 2007, Business Meeting as
well as the September 18th, Club Training Class.
They are also available at the Trap House any Sunday Morning. September Business
Meeting: Please
be advised that the September Business meeting will be held on Tuesday,
September 11, 2007. Dinner will be served at 7pm and the Business Meeting will
begin at approximately 8pm. Members
are encouraged to arrive early for a good seat. September Board of
Director’s Meeting: Please
be advised that this month’s Board of Director’s (BOD) Meeting will be held
on Tuesday, September 25th, 2007 at 7pm. September Firearms Safety
Course: At 7pm on September 18, 2007, Cape Cod Fish & Game will be offering the NRA Home Firearms Safety Course. All interested individuals are urged to contact Jack Martin for details at (508) 394 – 9466. This event is open to all club members, their guests, as well as the public. Kitchen Department: Bruce

in helping out with a club dinner is encouraged to step forward.
Cooks and helpers are needed for the dinner meetings.

Trap Range: Dan
Welch Chairman All
members are reminded that Trap is shooting Sunday Mornings at 9am, Wednesday
Evenings at 6pm and Friday afternoons from 12pm until 2pm. The cost to shoot is
a mere $3.00 dollars per round of 25 clay targets. Non members will pay just a dollar more!
Our trap range is open to all whether you are a novice, a rookie, an
expert or an ATA superstar. Everyone is welcome so come on down and join us for
some shooting fun! Fame’s Favored Few: Good
luck and continued success to all of our members of Fame’s Favored Few as
there are a number of shoots left in the 2007 ATA schedule. Less we forget as September is here and that means
CCF&G’s regular delegation of shooters will be heading to the 22nd
Northeastern Grand American Trap Championship Shoot in Cicero New York.
This year our club will be represented by six of our own club members! Trap Trophy Shoot Being
Planned: Please
be advised that a trap trophy shoot is being planned for the morning of the
September 22, 2007 Pig Roast. The
shoot will run from 8am to about 1pm and awards will be distributed at the Pig
Roast scheduled for that afternoon. The cost to participate will be $16 dollars
per shooter for 50 targets shot that morning.
Trophy prizes will be awarded as Top Gun, Second Place, Third Place,
Fourth Place, Fifth Place and High Veteran.
Interested shooters should contact Bob Preston, Dan Welch or Jim
Gillespie. Archery: Al
Savage Chairman Anyone
interested in learning about archery is encouraged to attend Wednesday Night
Archery on the club’s indoor range at 7pm.
All interested persons should see Al Savage for details. Membership: Rick
Kuzman Chairman All applicants will be interviewed for club membership. All sponsors must also attend this interview. To arrange an appointment for an interview please contact Rick Kuzman at (508) 896 – 9563. Please be advised that at the June Business Meeting both Bernie Coughlin and Jill savage were inducted into club membership. Welcome aboard to you both! Outdoor Range: Howie Bearse ChairmanProgress is moving along quite nicely on the range cover! The building has been stained and most of the external carpentry has been finished. Remember To Lock the Gate! In an effort to eliminate or at least lessen recent
vandalism, all members are reminded that it is the policy of this club for each
member to lock the gate behind themselves EACH
TIME when entering as well as when exiting the club grounds.
Unless the event is open to the public, IF YOU OPEN IT YOU MUST LOCK
IT!! July
Dinner Meeting a Great Success: Congratulations go out to Joe “The Mechanic” Lojko who
once again treated about forty plus members to his culinary expertise with a
great chicken dinner. Also joining
our own “Iron Chef” in Cape Cod Fish and Game’s version of “Kitchen
Stadium” were John Newton, Dave
Cormier and the unknown chef (Sorry
dude, I didn’t write your name down in my notes.) Again, thank you gentlemen for your efforts in creating
“GOOD EATS”! The club
would also like to thank Bill Long for his helping out with ticket sales that
evening. Congratulations should also go to Bill Long as he won the
50/50 raffle that same night. In Memoriam: The club would like to extend it’s heartfelt condolences
and sympathy to club member Ray Ertel and his family. On July 19th, Ray’s wife Camilla passed away
after a period of declining health. A memorial service was held for Mrs. Ertel
on July 26, 2007. |
