Cape Cod Fish & Game AssociationApril 2008 Newsletter
From The Desk of Club President George Baggitt:
Dear Members,
What a great year it has been! Many projects have been completed and upgrades begun that will enhance the future of our association. Membership has grown and our new members have brought new energy to the association by their willingness to become active committee members. Their enthusiasm has been contagious and has spurred an increase in participation by our long time members as well. This increased level of participation has made possible all that we have accomplished.
If you were not actively involved in association activities last year, I hope that you will try to participate this year. The Board of Directors asks that each member contribute a minimum of 4 hours of his or her time during the year. On an ongoing basis, we need members to assist with work parties for general maintenance of club buildings and grounds, monthly dinners, shoots, and special events. Other opportunities for service may arise during the year. Please contact any member of the Board of Directors with your questions about how to get involved.
Our new officers and Board of Directors will be elected at the May meeting. I would encourage all members to consider running for a seat either this year or in the future. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Board of Directors or in holding another office in the Association, please contact Bruce Gustowski, the chairman of the nominating committee. Bruce may be reached by phone at 508-776-8068 or by email at bgustows@gmail.com
This spring, the pass codes for the core keys will be changed. Please bring your current core key to the May meeting so that we can exchange it for and updated key. No updated keys will be given out without the exchange of a current key. If you have lost your key, you must pay $10.00 to purchase an updated key. No keys will be exchanged by mail. If you cannot attend the May meeting, please contact any officer for other dates and times when keys can be exchanged.
I will be stepping down as your President when my current term expires. My 3 years as President have been both enjoyable and productive. I feel now is a good time to let other members with fresh ideas take over. I’m sure the good fortune and growth the association has enjoyed will continue in their capable hands. I thank all the membership for the support and encouragement I have received from you. In the upcoming years, I will continue to serve the association in any way I can.
One final note…Spring Cleanup will be held on Saturday, April 12, beginning at 8:00 AM. You may choose your job from the lists that will be available that morning. I hope to see many of you there. The Rain Date will be the following Saturday, April 19.
Yours truly,
George Baggitt, President
